Throwing Out An Idea
Adventure Base 100 Traveling Scout Museum will be in Louisville, KY - April 23 - 25.
Adventure Base 100 is the ultimate Scouting experience. This experiential 10,000-square-foot campus provides an exciting view of the Boy Scouts of America's illustrious 100-year history and influential future. Rolling into more than 40 different cities across the country in 2010, Adventure Base 100 features a ropes course, hands-on exhibits, a multi-sensory IMAX-like Go Scouting! Dome, and much, much more!
Louisville is a 2 hour drive (123 miles). I looked at hotels in the area and most rooms at hotels with indoor pools are around $100/night. What I had in mind was driving up on Saturday morning and spending the afternoon at Adventure Base 100, dinner, then the evening at the hotel. The boys (and adults) could enjoy the indoor pool.
On Sunday, after check-out, we could all go to the Louisville Zoo. They do have group rates for 15 or more which would get the price down to 8.95 adults/6.40 children for admission. There are lots of extra things to do at Louisville Zoo, some free, some with extra fees. If you are a current member at Mesker Park Zoo, Louisville Zoo is free.
Just throwing out an idea for a group outing and involvement in the 100 Year Celebration. Adventure Base 100 will be in St Louis in August. I don't know about you, but I don't find St. Louis in August to be very enjoyable.
Let me have your feedback and if there is some interest, I'll start checking into things more in depth.
